Nobel Peace Prize winners and what this prestigious prize meant for their causes. Moderated by Meshel Laurie, this is an event not to be missed!

Brought to you by Melbourne Mothers Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Melbourne Medical School and Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, hosted by Trinity College

Dr Denis Mukwege is the world’s leading specialist in the treatment of wartime sexual violence and a global campaigner against the use of rape as a weapon of war. A world-renowned gynaecologist and human rights activist from east Congo, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2018.

A/Prof Tilman Ruff AO has been Co-President of International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War since 2012, which won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1985, and was founding Australian and International Chair of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons – awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2017.

Both luminaries share a passion for the protection of humanity, particularly in the context of war and conflict. It’s a privilege to have them both here to tell us their stories.
